The gossip mill had barely cooled down when Patralekhaa decided she wasn’t going to stay quiet anymore. After welcoming her baby girl with husband Rajkummar Rao, the actress-producer found herself at the center of chatter, not about motherhood, not about work, but about her body. And this time, she clapped back. Loudly.

The new mom took to Instagram and addressed paparazzi pages that allegedly made comments about her post-pregnancy appearance.

She didn’t sugarcoat her reaction either. In a strongly worded note, she questioned the scrutiny, pointing out that she had just given birth and was simultaneously handling professional responsibilities. She added that she hadn’t “sat and eaten a mountain,” but had gone through pregnancy while producing films.

She explained that her body reacted naturally to pregnancy and urged people to show compassion.

A new mom, a new chapter

The couple welcomed their first child, a baby girl, last year. The announcement itself was as sweet as it gets. They shared the news in a joint post on November 15, which also happened to be their fourth wedding anniversary. The message read that they were “over the moon” and called themselves “blessed parents.”

In the caption, they described their daughter as God’s “greatest blessing,” adding that they were stepping into a beautiful new chapter together.

The love story of the two actors goes back years. They first worked together in the 2014 film ‘Citylights’, which also marked Patralekhaa’s Bollywood debut. From co-stars to life partners, their journey has been one of quiet romance, culminating in a close family wedding ceremony in Chandigarh on November 15, 2021.

Busy parents, busy producers

Motherhood hasn’t slowed Patralekhaa down. Alongside Rajkummar, she has also stepped into the role of producer. A few months ago, the couple launched their production house, KAMPA Film.

The name isn’t random. It combines the initials of their mothers’ names. Talking about the venture, Patralekhaa said they have always believed in the power of storytelling.
